What is Water Bucket for Water Park

1.Introduction.

The Tipping Bucket , also called dump bucket , is a classic and very popular water play equipment in contemporary water parks , theme aquatic centers and splash pad in Water playground. Its simple and entertaining design principle is the application of mechanical levers and gravity principles of fluids. The continuous filling of a large vessel with water is done until it reaches the tipping point and then it automatically inverts and releases all its volume of water in a dramatic cascade. This spectacle creates a strong visual impact and surprise element for the guests , typically children and young adults. Being a visual landmark and a key guest attraction , the Tipping Bucket plays a vital role in creating a dynamic and engaging aquatic recreational environment.

2.Materials.

In order to ensure the longevity and safety of the tipping bucket feature in a long-term , high humidity and high chlorine environment , the materials’ application and structure design for this interactive play feature are typically based on rigorous industrial standards. The bucket is usually made of high performance materials , most commonly Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) or 304 stainless steel. Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) is malleable , highly corrosion resistant and can withstand high temperatures. It is also lightweight and can be moulded into various forms and painted in various colours. On the other hand , 304 stainless steel is characterised by its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.

Typically , the water bucket is installed at minimum of 5m above the ground level for potential energy potential to create a magnificent waterfall. The supporting structure of the tipping bucket , which is typically a highly engineered component , can be designed in a number of forms. One popular form is a free standing form which is supported by 2 main 140mm diameter , heavy gauge , hot dip galvanised steel pipes. Another free standing form is a multi-post frame made of 114mm steel pipes which looks like a climbing frame but in fact it supports the tip bucket at the apex only. However , the most common form in major water parks is to have the tipping bucket as the crowning feature atop a Water Fort or water playground. The bucket is naturally integrated with other abundant variety of play elements , including water slides , flumes , climbing nets and interactive water cannons , forming an extensive and feature-rich large aquatic playground.
main contents the splash plate under the bucket. This component is very important to spread the concentrated water stream into a flat curtain of water, which looks more decorative, and also reduces the impact force onto the guests below. Usually decorative water outlets are also installed on the sides of the bucket, which could be DN32 right angle pipes or any shapes molded from FRP, like seahorses. The capacity of the bucket would depend on the scale of the project, usually from several dozens to several hundred liters.

3. Functions.

The Tipping Bucket functions purely on physical principles, with no electrical power source required to provide the primary tipping movement, making it an extremely efficient and reliable ride.
As water continuously feeds into the bucket, via the top, the level of water rises. The centre of gravity of the total mass of the bucket and its contents increases and shifts to an increasingly unfavorable position. When the water level reaches a critical point, the torque (turning moment) of the weight is overcome and the bucket rotates quickly through 180o on its central axis. The water then pours out of the bucket by gravity through the splash plate below, creating the spectacular waterfall. The emptying of the bucket and its return to the vertical standing position is achieved by the bucket’s counterweight, ready for the next fill.
We can enhance some Tipping Bucket installations even further to increase the interactive fun and excitement for the guests. By adding a warning bell, that sounds a few moments before the tipping occurs. This not only adds another exciting element to the ride but also serves as a fun way of warning the guests waiting by the splash plate, making the overall interaction much greater.

4. Safety.

As the spalsh pad equipment, the safety of the Tipping Bucket comes first in terms of its design, installation and daily operation. From the mechanical view, all the support structures of the Tipping Bucket must be calculated by the mechanical formula, to bear the static load of the full water in the bucket and the dynamic load when the bucket tips over. Installation must be done by the professional qualified operation team on the concrete floor. In terms of the area safety, the surface and the surrounding area of the ground must be paved with the professional floor and anti-slip surface, and the safety distance around the structure must be reserved to avoid collision.
On the operation management view, the area must be equipped with the professional safety supervisors or lifeguards to observe the operation of the guests, especially for the children. The safety instructions must be prominently displayed, to inform the guests of the correct ways to operate, and also list the forbidden conditions, like heart disease and hypertension, where the guests with these medical conditions are forbidden to operate the Tipping Bucket to avoid safety accidents.
Last but not least, maintenance and hygiene must be continuously carried out to ensure the safe operation for a long time. The circulating water must be filtered and disinfected strictly, and the water quality must be regularly tested to meet the health standards. A comprehensive periodic maintenance plan must be formulated and implemented, and the welds, fasteners and pivot axis of the structure must be checked to ensure the safety, and any problems must be corrected in time.
