1.Definition.

Octopus Water Slide is a multi-functional integrated aquatic play facility specially designed for children. Taking biomorphic octopus as its theme, the water slide integrates slides, stairs and water spray feature. Octopus Water Slide is usually designed as the centerpiece attraction in the children’s wading or shallow play pools of water parks, theme parks and high-end residential communities for providing children with a safe, interesting and highly interactive water play facility.

2.Details.

Strictly engineered attributes of Octopus Water Slide for functions, durability and safety. Normally, the external size of the water slide is about 6.5m(L) x 6.5m(W) x 2.8m(H) and the central column is about 30cm in diameter. There is also a version using 114mm galvanized steel pipe as the central column but the top umbrella feature will be relatively smaller on this version. To enhance the service life, the main structure of the water slide including the slides and platform are usually manufactured from high-performance Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP). The material is highly corrosion-resistant, has good UV-resistance and high strength. The smooth surface and good malleability of the material also shape the streamlined design of the tentacles of the octopus. The central column of the water slide extends upwards to become the "head" of the octopus which is an umbrella-shaped sprinkler with cartoon eyes on top. The wave-like "tentacles" of the octopus extend outwards from the head as smooth slides or stairs fitted with red handrails. The whole water slide is usually painted in bright colour combination of blue&white, red&blue or blue&yellow.

3.Play.

Octopus Water Park Slide provides a composite water game experience to meet the diversified requirements of different children. Children can first climb up to the central platform safely via the stairs fitted with red handrails. At the platform, children will enjoy the unique shower experience surrounded by continuous annular water curtain sprayed down from the head umbrella of the octopus. Then children can select any of the "tentacles" slides to slide down quickly into the pool below. The dynamic area for children to shuttle through and play is also created at the bottom by the arched space naturally formed by the tentacles of the octopus.

4.Safety.

Life safety is always placed first in the design of children's playground equipment, and the Octopus Water Slide also designs a complete protection mechanism for the product's design, operation and use.From the perspective of design, the total height of the facility should remain within the range of 2.8m for life safety, and it should also be installed on the shallow pool where the children can stand. All edges should be designed as round to avoid cutting, and the stair surface usually also needs to be anti-slip treatment to enhance the friction.Similarly, standards for operation and management are also very strict. Only professionally trained lifeguards or safe supervisors should be configured to monitor the facility during the operating hours.
